Revitalizing Carbondale was an urban design project done in Arc 451 Urban Design studio by one entire class. In this project, there was four groups of students with different responsibilities. Group one had to redesign the SIU Campus Housing; group two had the Carbondale strip; group three had the SI Healthcare portion; and group four had all the animation and graphic detailing. In this project , I was in group four and produced the animation (above) along with the renders displayed for this project.

 

 

 

The perspective (right) shows a 3-dimensional version of the masterplan from the southern most point of our site. This shows the campus housing up close while also showing the redesigned Carbondale downtown in the background.

 

 

This image (right) the redesigned graduate housing for SIU Campus. All of the buildings are five stories with four stories used as housing and the first holding administration. The site has two lakes that create a very calm environment and also give the students activities to do in their free time.
